Today I had a beautiful 2013 BMW 335 coupe for a one step and McKee's 37 coating.

Initial foam gun wash and decon (Iron X and Nanoskin medium). Then a 1 step after some tests. Decided on LC blue foamed wool and Menzerna HCC400 on my Flex 3401.

Then layed down some McKee's Paint Coating.

I was pleasantly surprised how this paint finished down with that pad/product combo!

Beautiful! To get a reflection shot off of the color white is very difficult! You did a tremendous job! Beautiful!

Excellent work! Is HCC400 the new version of FG400?

Thank you, gentlemen.

Yes, SNP, the former Fast Gloss 400 is now Heavy Cut Compound 400. Beautiful reflection shot of your own right there!

Awesome man! The Alpine white is definitely hard paint.

Looks fantastic Paul. I have a question for you. When I was debating what to use for a polish before applying the McKee’s coating, I shied away from my one step of choice (HD speed) because it does have some LSP properties and I was worried the coating wouldn’t take as well. Did you do something between the two steps to clean up from the one step?

After every section I corrected with Menzerna 400 I wiped it off with CarPro Eraser. When I finished buffing the entire car I wiped it down again with Eraser just to make sure I didn't miss anything and to double clean as insurance.

I would have the same concerns as you with a cleaner wax or AIO. They are NOT good steps before any coating and waste any of the LSP function in them. I use correction products only before a coating and focus on removing paint defects first and cleaning the paint second.

Thanks Justin. Yes, it surprised me with my test sections because my Black Sapphire BMW paint isn't nearly as hard.
