BMW i8

Good afternoon. I received a call from a gentleman who is entering his 2016 BMW i8 into a local show and he wants me to detail it. There's not a lot on the forum about this car. What I know so far is he's hinted at staying away from machine polishing but that's not a certainty. Also, the car has a combination of multi stage and frozen paint. Searching frozen paint indicates it's "wash only". I'm servicing the vehicle this Friday and wanted to know if anyone has detailed one of these beauties and has any advice for service and/or products. I'm planning on using Blackfire wet over ice on the non frozen sections. Help.

Frozen is BMW matte paint. Definitely don't polish it. What I would do is find some dedicated matte products and use those, and avoid using anything for regular paint on it. Wax will clog up matte paint. Try to avoid anything that has gloss enhancers in it on the matte section. Dr Beasley is a great place to look for matte stuff as well as pbmgs own products.
