Hey everyone,

installed opticoat (glosscoat 2.0) on my truck about 1.5 years ago . Currently holding up really well but as winter is nearing wanted to add some protection. Thinking of topping it with gyeon wet coat. Yes I know topping opticoat, as others have put it, can be pointless or waste of time. However, has anyone had experience with this? And if so, do the two products play well together?

Why not polish and put on another coat of OptiCoat?

Dr.G recommend to put Opti Seal over any of opticoat, there is an authorize installer specific product as well but for normal consumer go with Optiseal.

He talking about opticoat not GlossCoat. Opticoat is expensive an only authorized installer can do them now. He just want a bit more protection.

I could polish and apply another coat however wet coat is 20$ max and can be worked into to my wash routine after a light Decon and seemingly been done much faster .... in theory of course

If no one has tried it ill gladly gamble the 20$ and let everyone know the outcome

Try cure or reload. They both work fine with gloss coat.

I have been using it on my wifes Outback that I gloss coated earlier this summer. It's a truly amazing product and it's made to be used as a matinence topper for optimum coatings. It works just like opti seal but it's a much stronger product. It was made to bond to coatings. I use it as a drying aid after an ONR or bucket wash. It really doesn't get any easier than that.

I agree, it is fantastic. I transferred mine into an empty Opti-seal bottle to ease up on the amount used.

The Optimum maintenance products are designed with a chemical synergy to perform best with Optimum coatings. Would be cool to see a side by side comparison using Opti-Seal or Hyper Seal vs another brand like Gyeon.
