I've been giving my 2 month old, Onyx Black GMC Sierra the spa treatment.

Yesterday, I washed and clayed and then started polishing with HD Speed on an Orange LC Flat Pad coupled with my 7424xp. I just wanted to share a reflection shot with you guys.

HD Speed is incredibly easy to work, so easy that I'm started to wonder like so many others if there is a filler in it. After two quick passes, all swirls are gone. Granted, my truck has July build date and I scooped it up directly from the back lot of the dealer but, black is black... It doesn't matter what you do to prevent it, swirls are always going to find there way to the pain. HD Speed has obliterated the light swirls that have accumulated since purchasing.

Here's a shot of the right rear panel. I'll update the post when I'm done with some additional pics.

Sorry that the picture is horizontal, can't figure out why?

Nice reflection.

Who cares if it has fillers? :) Did you do a IPA wipe after correcting the panel? And what did the bare naked finish reveal? :)

No IPA wipe down, I don’t want to know. I just want to enjoy Speed and assume that it has amazing correction abilities. Lol

Per Dave Fermani (formerly with 3D):

Speed do not fill in the sense of masking or hiding defects. What it does is add extra gloss due to the wax content in it. Speed is a combination of HD Polish & HD Poxy.

I believe what David was referring to here is that HD Poxy will hide some of those things a bit. However, HD Speed will correct those issues instead of hide them. An IPA wide down will reveal they are no longer there.

There is no chemical added to HD Speed or Poxy with the intent to hide. The chemicals used to provide protection may have slight filling effect as a biproduct but that is not why we use them.

Nice, fan of the high maintenance color here too, I have a new black F150 and have similar success with HD products but I went a step farther and ceramic coated it.
It does help keep it clean and easy to wash.
I only mention it since I waited 6 months and wish I did it ASAP.

I traded a 14 F150 for this truck. My neighbor came home in a 17 Pearl White Lariat today while his 15 KR is in for maintenance. Really wishing I would have gone with another Ford after sitting in it but the rebates just weren’t anywhere close to was GMC was offering.

I loved my tuned Eco but my 6.2 makes a hell of a noise.
