Just got my griots 3" BOSS kit and couldn't be happier. Did some quick testing tonight on the wife's black Lincoln and realized the pads seem off in terms of their correcting ability. Some could be product qty, my technique or the products themselves, but I'm curious how the orange/yellow/black pads map to their LC counterparts.

Orange seems about equivalent to LC orange, yellow seems in between white and blue, and black seems in between blue and black.

Anyone have experience with them or can recommend a better 3" pad system? Definitely need mf pads for this bad boy too.

I have ordered some 3 inch mf pads from griots as well. My first use I had the same impression as you did. I come from using meg mf pads and the material or fibers as you call it are very different. These new griots mf pads need to be worked in initially to mop down the material a bit. It is not a ready to use pad ime like a foam pad or meg mf by just priming the pad and off you go. They do work and will work after the initial break in.

if you need a pad that cuts quick on the GG3 then try the microfiber FAST cutting pad (also available in 5" and 6"). same microfiber as the other GG microfiber pads but with no foam interface...

What do you mean by the word

map

Do you mean "compare"?

Am I the only one not getting it?

Sometimes I don't get it, but this one was baffling me. I'm glad it wasn't only me.

Yes, corporate speak may be getting the best of me. Compare is what I'm after. I.e the orange gg pad actually cuts less than the orange LC one and is more like a white, etc

That sounds about right, but I have not compared them side by side.

Griots BOSS pads, most to least aggressive...
White, Orange, Yellow, then Black.

LC Flat pads, most to least aggressive...
Yellow, Orange, White, Black, and then Blue.

If only there was a good way to measure pad 'cut', a comparison chart like the autopia polish chart would be awesome

That would be cool.

So would be adding their cut and finish range.

The BOSS microfibers cut great and finish good also.

I wish the polishing chart had the finishing range as well like Sonax does theirs.

For that I just compare whatever I'm looking at to an equivalent menz or sonax product that has those ranges.

But I agree. Maybe some of the masters could collaborate and build a chart?
