The windshield does allegedly absorb 100% of UV-B and 98% of UV-A (that's from pgw)

A product like LLumar Air Blue 80 has 43% heat rejection. And a claimed 99% UV shield.

Now if you have an old car all bets are off as it's uncertain to me at what point they had the windshields UV protected. Side windows on the other hand can vary widely.

Carbon ceramic tint. I'm sure people in your area on this forum could give you a tint shop recommendation

Prices vary widely by area. Also you have to follow local tint laws

What I can say is.....I have a '16 Ram 1500 Quad Cab (full sized rear doors) and a buddy of mine that has a tint shop here in NC usually charges about $280 for my truck to apply the ceramic tint. I absolutely recommend the Ceramic tint as it really does help with deterring the heat throughout the day.

Is $280 for only the windshield? In NorCal this is on the low side for just the windshield. $350 is closer to it at a reputable, high-yelp-rating place that is 3M-authorized.

This is what I have on all of our windshields. This one is virtually clear and the cops cannot tell it is there unless they look very closely at the edges. The heat rejection is amazing. It is very pricey. I used 3M Color Stable for all other windows on the recommendation of the installer. He has very high yelp ratings. I suspect most of the 3M shops do. 3M? Automotive Window Film Crystalline Series (http://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/company-us/all-3m-products/~/3M-Automotive-Window-Film-Crystalline-Series?N=5002385+3292716668&rt=rud)

This is for all other windows. 3M? Automotive Window Film Color Stable Series (http://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/company-us/all-3m-products/~/3M-Automotive-Window-Film-Color-Stable-Series?N=5002385+3292716665&rt=rud)

I guess 3M and Hupper Optik are the best known high quality films. Look up on their website for a dealer near you. With strict laws I think 3M Crystalline is the best because of its amazing performance even at very light shades like 90% clear which is great for windshields. It's not cheap though.
