well ladies and gents....I've been away for a while....but I have returned.. I have lurked the site for a while. just not posted.

let me get into my question by telling a story. I'll make it short.

I had my car in a parking lot. I went into the store came back out to find two good sized dents and one side skirt missing from my car... I obviously was upset, but was more annoyed than anything. I mean my side skirt just sitting on the ground with a huge crack. did someone hit it? probably not. it sits too low for a car to get it. someone "removed" it quite carelessly.

anyways... I get the car back from the shop on thursday...I had a body kit put on. :D

I had a new bumper put on, the side skirts, and a lip spoiler added. the dents had to be removed and half the rear door had to be painted. its a 3 stage paint
now for a few questions,

I want to detail the car on friday.... needs some minor paint correction. (thanks to the dealership's lovely "detailing service" at its last check up.)

1. Is its ok to clean the portion of the car that was painted...

2. Is it too soon to hit it with wax and QD? can it even get wet?

3. do I need to treat that portion of the car differently from now on (when polishing, waxing, claying)?

thanks in advance

Is its ok to clean the portion of the car that was painted...?If by ‘clean’ you mean washing, yes. I would not use an abrasive polish for a while

2. Is it too soon to hit it with wax and QD? Can it even get wet?
Wax (most QD’s also contain wax) and should be avoided for a while

3. do I need to treat that portion of the car differently from now on (when polishing, waxing, claying)?
Yes

'For a while' = the body-shop / paint manufactures know their products; seek their advice so as not to void any warranty. Paint manufacturer have specific technical guidelines on how to use their products to affect a warranted spot/panel/ repairs or a full repaint. This preserves both the paint manufactures and factory warranty.
