Has anyone tried the DG 522 (Marine/RV QD) and 951 (Aquawax) mix? I mixed up a batch Friday and got a chance to use it today on my GF car.

I did a DP 4in1 waterless wash then finished up with The DG 522/951 mix. All I can say is: IT"S FANTASTIC! Give this mix a try when you get the opportunity! :autowash:

I have tried it, and it is a nice follow-up combo. What .oz ratio did you use?

I have been using the Mix for over a year now...I first started using AW with Fast Clean and Shine....then I tried the Marine Detailer this past spring and did the mix....

my mix ratio is ...with the DG Spray bottle I use 3-4 oz of AW to rest either FC&S or Marine Detailer....

I have some 12oz spray bottles and I mix 2oz to 10 of the QD's...that works good for me....AW has NO cleaners so I do not want to dilute the QD to much for the cleaning properties..

This mix gives does a fine job as a quick clean up and leaves a super slick finish and great Gloss....

Remember..the cleaner will not compromise a durable sealant..BUT may interfere with a wax to a point....

Do you have to buff it off or just wipe it on and move on to the next panel?

I mixed 5 quarts of the stuff so it actually ended up 112 oz. of 522 (70%) to 48 oz. of 951 (30%).

Is your lsp a sealant or wax?

I normally do a sealer on day 1 and my wax day 2 My sealer/wax combo for winter is Collinite 845/NXT paste. The rest of the year NXT paste/Pinnacle Liquid. I use Pinnacle Spray after washes.

Well...it depends on the person....I use the Mix as a cleaner with some extra bling to it....if I dilute to much I see I have a harder time getting some contaminants off the paint....so I came to this mix as a good cleaner and some added protection....

Like any cleaner type QD..the more you dilute it less cleaning power....

example....when I was trying to find the right mix...I did a 30% AW mix....and when I sprayed a bird bomb is was still sorta solid...when I reduced the mix to the current mix i have (as above) the bird bombs started to break down...and disolve....thats what I wanted...and the finish left behind was sorta like a AW finish....slick and glossy and very water repellant....so thats what I stuck to...

it does great at cleaning glass and also acting like a rain repeller like straight AW does...

this mix does like AW in the rain..the paint just self dries while driving...it just flys off the paint....

ALMakes good sense, guess I'll try both ratios and see what I like best. :D

shadybreal,

I use 2 Prestige II MF towels (short pile side of towel to spread the product and the long side to buff). Works for me :buffing:

Shady....I use 2 MF towels....one to apply and one to buff off....

my way is I spray the application towel once...then spray a panel with 1 spray and wipe in with the application towel...then wipe off with the drying towel....as you go along the application towel gets damper with the product and then reduce how much you spray...most panels need 1 spray..the hood and roof need 2...truck beds need 2 also per side...

remember to flip your towels to a clean side every 1-2 panels to ensure a clean wiper...

I'm assuming the mix of DG 522 and AW (20 or 30% dilution) is okay to use as a QD+ and won't mute the metallic paint as some have said by using too much AW by itself...

521/951 mix or 921/951 mix, good stuff something I learn from Big Al.
