View Full Version : Waterspots in Ceramic Coating

Rained here a few days ago, and didn't have a chance to wash my car (which was uncharacteristically dirty at the time) until today. My car is coated, and normally I don't have problems with water spotting, but today after cleaning the car I noticed very faint (but visible in the sunlight) tiny waterspots up and down the hood, on the roof and somewhat on the trunk. Tried claying them off, tried using CarPro Spotless, and tried Essence Plus, and still no luck completely getting rid of them. Seems like they etched the clear coat.

Anyone else have water spots etch the clear through ceramic coating? Was really surprised, particularly since it was rain and not a sprinkler or something of the sort (unless some hardwater hit it without me knowing). Any tips on what to do, or now just have to bite the bullet, polish the coating and the spots out, and re-coat?

Thanks

Polish and re-coat. What coating is it?
