Water spots are minerals and you need an acid to remove them. The gentle way is to use vinegar. If that doesn't work Wheel Brightener will work for sure. As mentionned above, do not let it get on windows, it can etch them. I would soak a microfiber corner and wipe the area contaminated. Use gloves, that stuff is nasty when it gets into living organisms (Hydrochloric acid). As for corvette paint, you might want to try D300 from Meguiars. I have done 3 cars so far with the D300 cutting pads and Compound and I am blown away at how effective it is. It will remove swirl marks in no time, even sanding marks are removed in seconds. So far I have used it on Jaguar, Porshe and Subaru paint, all of them were super easy to correct. Not sure how it would work on Corvette paint, but so far I think this is the best system for defect removal short of using a rotary with a wool pad.
