Hello everyone, first post here :)

I just picked up a 2012 BOSS 302 Laguna Seca and I'm getting ready to detail it. I would like to start by decontaminating the paint and was wondering if someone can answer the following question:

Is Iron X safe on decals and painted wheels? I've used the product before but never on a car with decal and really don't want to screw this up. Thank you!

No idea in regard to the IronX, sorry. Unless you find out for sure, I wouldn't chance it.

Congrats on your new ride! I'm a big fan of Mustangs

Just used it on a Raptor and it didn't phase the decals all over that thing. Should be OK. So as long as you are indoors and not it sunlight and the decals are cool to the touch. I would test on the wheels and decals however maybe stick to a small area first. If concerned you could also cut down on the dwell time.

Thanks for the replies guys. I was also thinking I can always mask the decals with plastic to protect them from getting hit with the spray.

Thanks again, much appreciated.

Welcome to AG. Iron X should be fine on the decals, just make sure not to let it dry. Nice Mustang.

Iron X will be fine on factory stripes. I have a new EB Stang with rocker stripes... no issues.

Keep off decals and just use clay. For the wheels buy a dedicated tire and rim cleaner.Ironx kinda of etched. My brake components on my 15 camaro.

All stripes are not created equal.save yourself a headache and don't use especially on the hood.
