Zeech, had a few scratches in this chrome lid from the microfiber towels, so I slap some 0000 steel wool on it, now I have even more scratches. LOL..........so I throw a bench buffer on it for 2 seconds and this is what I get.

I take it the chrome is shot..........they are only $ 20 bucks a piece, bad part is I need 3..........oh well. Any tips after I get my new ones for cleaning, all I ever used on them was windex and microfiber cloths.

Thanks

Rich

What chrome lid? I may be missing what Zeech is. I see the pic but what is it a lid for?

Yeah you stripped the chrome plating right off it looks like. Ive always preferred to do chrome by hand, even if its really bad. Chrome is very thin typically and a bench buffer is way too strong. Bench buffers are great for polishing bare aluminum but Id never let it touch a chrome part

Hey thanks guys, I figured I wrecked it, just hard to believe that stuff is that thin, I guess no more buffer on the chrome stuff, ordered some new ones today..........

Dcjredline........just a lid for a carburator
