Is there anything I should look out for polishing carbon fiber parts?

is it harder or softer?
can I wet sand like normal painted surface?
Anything I should never do?

Find out if it's clear-coated.

I've found that if it has been
clear-coated...then the CC is
usually on the "soft" side.

can I wet sand like normal painted surface?

IMO:
-Only if the CC is going to be resprayed.
(CC has the UV-protection. Don't ever
want to remove too much CC.)
-Best to only use very mild polishes.
(ex. M205)

Anything I should never do?
-See above.
-Don't polish CF that's "unfinished"
(has no clear-coat).

How I tell if its CC or not on carbon fiber?

is it so called dry carbon vs wet?

then these panels I looked at today seemed "wet" so clear coated?

High quality after market and dealer CF is usually CC. Best bet is contact the company as ask directly.

Most CC CF I polished have been soft, but I have also seen mildly hard CC. Best to test with least aggressive as always
