View Full Version : Best Product for Dash Leather That Doesn't Condition

Hi Everyone,

My '99 Porsche has a leather dash, and while I have been treating it with leather conditioner for years, I recently found out that this could be doing a lot of harm. From what I have read, Porsche pre-dries the leather used for the dashboard (and anywhere that isn't regularly handled) and glues it down. Apparently, the leather is stretched so tight, softening it with conditioner can cause wrinkles and other defects. The car has coated leather seats, but the dash does not have a smooth texture, so I am not sure if it is coated too.

What would be the best product to use to clean the dash leather and give it a little extra UV protection, without conditioning it or causing any other harm?
Would Cockpit Premium be safe on (potentially) uncoated leather?

Thank you,
-Rick
