https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aty8jMqamn4

For the second year running, the Competition Ready team will be at Autogeek’s own, Detail Fest to cover the Second annual Detailer’s Cup Awards.

And this year, the event has grown to an incredible size and scope. It’s become a national, high-profile event, taking over the West Palm Beach Convention Center and filled with a collection of some of the most celebrated builders in the country.

This is Mike and his team up against five incredible rides—from sun-up, until the moment the celebrity judges make their decisions, Mike, AJ and the team work to bring these amazing cars to polished perfection.

The cars were all stellar.

The 1940 Willys was my favorite as I've always loved the gasser look and 1930's and 1940's era "coupes".

What was interesting about the 1940 Willys as it had horrible horrible paint on it. It was an absolute challenge to polish as it was stupid-soft and just about anything that touched it scratched it including machine or hand polishing.

I talked to Kyle Tucker about it and he said he had had Reps from PPG to his shop to help troubleshoot what the problem was with their paint system as his team would struggle to polish their own paint job.

:dunno:

So after all these months I finally got to watch the episodes for Detail Fest. I have enjoyed watching all the episodes. It was amzing to see the final show after seeing all that went on to film the episode. I would detail again at Detail Fest even if it wasn't televised.

Soft paints prefer free spinning orbitals for finishing out versus gear drive orbitals. Thus at least one reason to have one or more tools in your tool chest.

I actually covered this topic in post #32 here,

When I saw this show title listed on DirecTV I thought it was a tuner show for race car preparation. Did you ever consider calling it Concours Ready, or something that might include detailing in the title? If it wasn't for the forum, it would be easy to overlook.
