Removing a deep scratch down to metal - Need Help

Is there a step by step for repairing scratches that are down to the metal?
I have a deep scratch on a brand new car and can't find any guidance on repair.

You can't "remove" a scratch down to the metal...you have to "replace" the missing paint. If you "remove" down the the level of the scratch, you'll have a bigger "down to the metal" spot.

Mike--why is it when I copy/paste those links from your article list I don't get the title only like the links in your list? I get the full URL...If I do a copy/paste it comes out like that, and if I do an "insert link" it just gives me the URL again where the title would be. Is that a browser or OS issue? Yes, I agree with setec. Missing paint down to the metal needs to be put back.

Thank you for the feedback so far. I agree I need to replace the paint but I all the info I am finding is how to fix clear coat scratches.
Below is what I am dealing with on a new 2017 Ford Explorer. I received two quotes so far, one for $400 and one is for $60.

Some ahole backed into my Ram and took off tweaked the bumper and put a 8" x .25" scratch on the white facia above the chrome bumper. I used the same method and filled it in. It took 4 days of filling in, let dry, wet sand and repeat. It didn't come out 100% perfect, but it will pass lease turn in with no issues.

For a 100% OEM looking repair the panel needs to be refinished by a quality body shop. Then, depending on how well the body tech and painter are at their jobs, you'll need texture match, cut, and polish the fresh paint to ensure that everything matches the adjacent panels.

An alternative is you can throw several layers of touch up, clear, and then sand/polish until everything is level. Touch up repairs like that never look perfect though. You will always be able to tell that a repair was made there if you look close enough but it on that color it should be invisible from about 5 feet away if repaired carefully.
