I tried but my wheels are too dirty for basic wheel cleaner. Someone mentioned an acid product but I'm not familiar with them. Any specific product suggestions to deal with this? I believe they are clear coated aluminum. It's an 01 F150. Here's a pic. If a close up of the wheels would help I'll get one but you probably know what I need without seeing them.
