Opinions on Turtle Wax's polish for black cars.

I'm gathering this company isn't considered higher quality. If it isn't, is there something better for dark colored cars? I'm looking for something REALLY fine for black.

Search for polishing with a dual action or orbital polisher. A lot here on AG and a ton of vids on Utube.

To get the ultimate shine, you need to polish the paint with a polisher.

What kind of cars and condition?

I'm not a firm believer in "colored"
polishes/waxes, per se.

For example:
There are hundreds/(if not thousands)
of Black vehicle "colors". How can any
polish or wax that consists of only one
particular black color, in and of itself,
be able to cover all-the-bases?

I do believe that, instead of the Turtle
Wax product you mentioned, you'll wind
up with better polishing results using

Like I said, if you want the best shine possible, you need to polish first.
You can use Turtle wax or a $100 an ounce wax and they would both look like crap if the surface is not free of rids and swirls. No magic bullet for clean paint.

he's talking about polishing with a machine, not as your referring too. for the best shine possible you need to create a good base, wash, clay, decon and swirl removers. just getting some "black" wax isn't going to do anything for you by itself. you have one of the most experienced people here telling you whats up, i'd listen to surfer

There's nothing that's "meant" for black paint. It's all covered in clear coat no matter the color. When you're polishing you're leveling the clear to make tge paint look flawless. If you don't want to spend the time learning how to polish then just get a glaze and fill in tge imperfections. It'll never look as good, but it looks better than putting some wax on the paint alone.

The Meguiar's Black Wax isn't meant for black cars per se. It has less chemical cleaners and more abrasives than the white wax, but it's equally effective for all colors. It just looks better for black cars because it focuses more on swirl removal than stain removal. The reason being that it's easier to see swirls on black paint and stains in white paint. They may dye the polish/wax combo, but that doesn't mean the wax left behind is tinted. This comes from someone who helped develop the product (not me, but one if the guys at Meguiar's).

I got the good base prerequisites down, I was just looking for some opinions on not only this turtle wax product but on "black car" specific polishes in general. I was never quite sure if they were all a gimmick or not. Was kinda focused on polishes not waxes. Thanks for all the help so far guys :)

This was April 2012 when I first got my GC and polished it with a PC, no lsp, just polished paint.

It sucks its got to much dye in it. the pre wax cleaner is good but skip the black carnuba. their spray detailer for black cars is terrible to. The only product worth anything in that black box from turtle wax is the pre wax cleaner.

I wouldn't use any of those products with dye in them. Literally any wax or sealant looks good on black paint that is free of swirl marks or other defects.
