So i am gonna be going to corvette show June 10.
I went 2 years ago but didn't get to win a trophy in my class.
However i did go to another show last year and won 1st place in my class.
The thing is this next one is a bigger show, a lot more corvettes and competition is fierce.
I am very happy with the exterior of my vette, however not as confident about under the hood.
So for all you corvette guys or some of you that go to shows, tell me what you think the judges look for under the hood.
Do you think they look to see if it is just cleaned good or does there have to be dressing on the plastics.
also i am showing some pics of the inside of where the fenders are. I am not sure what this material is made of and if
i should put anything on it. Please send me your suggestions so i can come home with the trophy for all us auto geeks, lol

If you haven't used dressing on the
underhood plastics---don't start now.
Just make sure that it's all really clean.

And...
Since we're talking about under-the-hood:
This brings back memories of when I had
my red '07 Corvette:

so you dont think the judges
look for dressing?
I don't know if the judging criteria for
this particular Car Show includes the
dressing of plastics that are found
under the hood, or not.

{I would think that the judging sheet(s)
would have all the requirements listed.}

I'd like to suggest this, go to the show and enjoy the other cars and maybe, if your lucky, you'll find an owner who's actually out and about looking at other rides and not growing roots sitting in their chairs all day.

I bring this up because I used to get all wrapped up into carshows and judging and learned this, it's all politics. Just enjoy the comradery😎

Over applying greasy is a no no.

Dunno regarding the rules.

If you are going to clean, try this. Not greasy and makes everything looking natural as if it just came from the factory.

Clean with Blackfire Wet Diamond Waterless Wash
Then spray and wipe off using Blackfire AIO Trim and Tire Protectant

IMHO any under the hood cleaning/dressing should be done about 4 days before show, so you can "level out" wet spots etc.

WATER SPOTS ARE THE DEVIL !!!!!!!! You can clean, and clean, and clean and clean and a while later someone will see one, so get a second set of eyes to go over it about 2 hours after cleaning. (they seam to show up later, as moisture dries)

I got dinged for this in one show ( I never saw it till pointed out to me)

Make sure all dust/dirt is gone from gaskets and channels.
All grease gone.
Clean wins!

Sonus Moto Kote & trim is GREAT, it dresses the engine compartment without looking feeling greasy.

This also helps when doing the engine compartment.

Other areas to make sure you get that are looked at but normally missed, is the underside of the hood etc.

At the show, do a quick wipe quick clean up with waterless wash (make sure engine is cooled down)
