Ok so there is a company local to me that sells body shop and detailing supplies.

Ive used them in the past for car wash soap and tire shine. They carry alot of different things

Anyway, long story short. They have a soap and tire shine that i like, its priced pretty reasonable.

Both contain silicone.

Im curious on your opinions on silicone in car wash soaps and tire shines. Does it hurt the paint? does it dry out rubber? does it discolor?

Lately ive been using alot of meguires professional series.....but i really like this particular soap as it leaves a slick finish and the paint is really shiny!!

Just curious.....i dont want to hurt the paint/rubber/etc with silicone

Body/Repair/Paint Shops frown
on having products containing
Silicone on their premises.

Other than that, car-care products
that contain silicone ain't gonna
hurt a thing, IMO.

Thanks guys

I found a article in the search bar that mike wrote up about it.

Sounds like silicone is not the issue, but other things cause issues, which normally get blamed on the silicone

Good to know!!
