So I was thinking, if I do my normal polish etc and then throw on a sealant. Say in another 3-6 months I'll recoat. Then if I dont need a polish again ( so I could save a step/a few hours ) Couldn't I just use an AIO that will clean the paint, maybe remove some light marring and then throw down a coat of sealant/wax? Basically two birds one stone and get protection. Then I could follow up a month or two later with another sealant coat. But by then I should be back time for my polishing again...

What would work well with a dark blue truck?

I scored a bottle of poorboy's polish with sealant super cheap (<$10) and tried it out for the first time today. I used it for exactly what you are describing, a quick cleanup of any towel marks and/or marring since the last time I did a full correction. Gotta say, it worked great and it's one of the most user friendly products I've ever used. Doesn't stain trim and I used it in full sun on hot paint and it was a breeze to apply and even easier to remove no matter how long I left it on there. Seriously just about the most idiot proof product I've used. It left a nice crisp shine as well. I can definitely see myself using it every month two for this purpose. Just don't expect it to correct a ton if you have some deeper scratches and swirls.

What's the protection durability you've come across?

I didn't get but a few weeks of durability out of the PB product mentioned.

I just used it today so I can't comment on durability. If it doesn't last very long I'd still be happy with it. Even without the sealant its still a super easy to use mild polish/cleaner. Going forward I plan to use some D156 after every wash or two to keep the car protected. PWS and D156 is just about the easiest car care regimen I can think of.

I don't wash my dd's every week or every other week or even every month so durability of a product is of parmaount importance to me. I also don't want to have to reapply it once a month or every other month to get that durability. I need a product for my dd's that will last 5-6 months with one application.

Yeah same here. I'd want something that at least gives me 2-3 months if possible...

Then HD SPEED and POXY as I posted earlier. Good for 5-6 months.

HD Speed topped with HD Poxy, makes red pop!

And it seems to me that with Speed under Poxy dark colors take on an extra degree of depth/wetness.

If you're really interested in durability give FK1000 a try. I know it's just an LSP but put on a coat or two after polishing and you should be good to go. I put a coat on in late October and it's still beading like crazy today. Look is subjective--it reminds me of a new coat of clear.
