Flex 3401 maintenance question

Mike philips shows adding air tool oil to the felt ring when removing the backing plate. For lubrication etc.

That is air tool luricant...not air tool engine oil correct?

I think that only applied to the first generations versions. I've never done anything to any of my FLEX polishers and they run great.

what about mobil 1 synthetic oil??

Engine oil is designed to absorb as much dirt as possible. Try sewing machine oil
