Hi all,

Here's my story:

1. Watched junkman vids on polishing. Decided to get the porter cable.
2. Realised it's not that readily available here in the U.K. But junkman said the DAS6 pro is, which is the UK version
3. Went on eBay found a cheaper DA which SEEMS to me to be the same as the DAS 6 pro. It's called Kingbarney.

Here are my questions:

1. The kingbarney DA comes with 5 inch and 6 inch backing plates. I will need at least 4 inch or preferably 3 inch for the more smaller areas. Would I need to find plates made just for KB DA or would any backing plate that fits on the das pro fit on the KB?

2. I guess what I'm really asking is are there such things as generic backing plates or are they always brand specific? E.g would the plates of a PC fit on a DAS pro?

any of the DA backing plates with a 5/16"-24 spindle will work. i would suggest buying a known brand and you will most likely will only have it buy it once, so you might as well get a quality one. GG and LC both make good ones...
