I have never done a IPA wipe down as a surface prep so how much should rubbing alcohol be diluted 50/50 lower, higher?. When should I do wipe down before claying or after. My procedure is wash then dry clay polish if necessary. So which do I do first clay or ipa wipe down.

Good morning. I'm no expert but I use a 70/30 IPA. These folks here are awesome and will chime in. I use it after pushing before waxing. Hells remove oils so the wax or LSP will bond better with the paint. Hope that helps.

Sorry. Typo. Polishing not pushing.

Before.
First thing you do after washing if you are polishing.

Here's my method.... Wash. Clay. Polish. IPA. Wax.

No real need to IPA before polishing, but you can if it helps you see how your correction is going.

I have never done a IPA wipe down
as a surface prep...
Have you done "The Baggie Test"
to see if claying is actually needed?

Note:
If claying is needed...I always
polish afterwards.

What type of LSP are you going
to be applying---Wax, Sealant,
Coating?

I don't do IPA Wipe-downs (or use
any other surface prep products)
unless the LSP manufacturer specifically
recommends to do so.

Why take the chance on possibly
bogeying up the freshly cleaned
and polished paintwork?!?!
