I got an Echo Dot (Amazon Alexa thingy) and want a good speaker for to play music on. Does not have to be Bluetooth connected. Less than $1,000,000.00 please. TIA

I have been using Yamaha 3 way 6.5 in ceiling speakers through out my house. Just recently added 4 to my 2 car garage ceiling bit over kill but sounds great.

have you looked at Sonos or Definitive Technology?

I have DT soundbar w/ Sub and it's pretty darn amazing. If their other solutions are as good... you should check them out.
And in addition to being a detail geek, I'm an audio geek... ;)

I run Yamaha for my main surround system and then I have the bose portables which are really clear and crisp. we use those outside when I hook up the projector for the kids and we sit by the fire.

Have you looked at a Bluetooth 'receiver' for you main stereo? I have one on Onkyo home theater inside, and one on the Onkyo non-digital in the garage. Picked up from Amazon for under $30 each.

If a Bose outlet or store in near by you may want a demo of their stuff.
The last time I went they had jule cube speakers but that was a long time ago they probably have something better by now. I still have 901 with equalizer and analog receiver.

I have been in professional audio nearly my whole life and in my house I have Sonos. Reason is value. They sound great especially the demure PLAY1 whose sound defies its size. Sonos is also not a dead end technology as the app is always upgraded with new features. The PLAY5 - their largest speaker will blow your mind in sound quality for the price. Like detailing products, Yes you can ALWAYS spend more but that doesn't always mean better. Have a listen at a local store.

I have Infinity speakers throughout my home and love them. Just upgraded to a bluetooth receiver and that was a great upgrade for convenience.

I have Thiel fronts (nice but pricey, overkill for an echo).

I second the DT, I have a pair of their outdoor AW6500's that are impressive. I use them for my second zone (sun room/bar) most of the time. But once or twice/year I take them outdoors and use them for an outdoor movie night with my projector! they are outstanding.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I went with the Bose Soundlink Mini II. The price was right and it got great reviews.
