I'm about to quote a detail on this truck, but there could be a big difference depending on what these wheels are.. I'm thinking they could be bare aluminum, what do you think?

Hard to tell. Best I can think of is to grab towel with small dab of polish on it. Rub in a small spot on the rim.
If it is black---bare aluminum.

Yea, but the truck's 10 miles away and I'm trying to give a quote over the phone. Lol.

Gotcha.
By the looks and style of spokes---looks like somewhat of a "recent" style and probably is clear coated.

Give him a couple of quotes with certain conditions attached re wheels.

What does the customer want done to the wheels? If the customer doesn't know if they're clear coated or if they're bare aluminum you could just give the customer a price range, or a starting price, and let them know that a firm quote can be given after visually inspecting the truck. A lot of folks ask me for an estimate over Facebook and oftentimes I give them a range of cost after seeing pictures and reviewing/tempering their expectation.

Oh just thought of something.

Quote him towards the high end. Tell him if rims are coated (clear) you'll give him a discount at end of detail.

People love getting a discount in general. That should help close the deal.

Yup, I was just on the phone with the girl and that's exactly how it went... It's so cool when a girl actually knows about these kinds of things. Too bad she's already taken. Lol.

It's gonna happen tomorrow morning. Wish me luck.[emoji1417]

I used the new Meguiars Hot Wheels Metal Polish on the grill of a Chevy Silverado I did a few days ago and man it did an outstanding job at cleaning it up to a brilliant shine. Oxidation and water spots? Bam!

They turned out to be bare aluminum.

I polished them out using the Britemax Final Finish Metal Polish & Sealant. [Meguiars Hot Rims Metal Polish wasn't able to cut it on these wheels]

The husband came out and noticed that I cleaned up the headlights as an added bonus... He said "dude you're the man"! Lol.[emoji16]

Thank you, sir.
The new owners purchased it from 1 of their neighbors... While I was down there polishing 1 of the wheels I heard a man walking by who said to another neighbor "yea but it's not mine anymore"
I immediately knew they were talking about the truck. I stayed down hoping to hear more but that's all that he said as he walked by. I also wish I had finished the wheels & tires on the side he was able to see. Then maybe there could've been a "holy crap that used to be my truck"![emoji24]lol. J/k
