Hi all,

Just found the forum yesterday and have been 'studying'

It's been a while since I had a vehicle whose paint I was concerned about. I had a '66 Mustang that I kept clean / waxed back in the day.

Now I have a 2017 Ram 3500 Crew Cab Long box. I picked it up on Dec 21st and only have about 2500 miles on it.

After reading this forum for a while, I'm a little bit ashamed that I've been running it through the car wash when it was dirty or had salt spray on it.
I don't want to go overboard on the truck, it has about an acre of painted surface!

The truck lives outside 100% and I don't need it to look like a show car, I just want to protect it.

It is currently a dust/grime magnet. My wife (she drives a 2010 F150) and I both drove the same route last week and her truck basically shed all the dirt and grime.
My truck looked horrible! I had her truck detailed/sealed a couple years ago and believe that explains most of the difference.
I read here on the Forum that the WG Sealant actually helps 'repel' dirt/dust.

Based on what I've read so far, I've ordered the Wolfgang Auto Bath, Wolfgang 3.0 Sealant and the Spritz.

I need to get Tire care products and something for my Tonneau cover and I'll be good to go.

Anyway, thanks for all the info I've already gained.

Any input is appreciated.

AJ

The truck will be used to pull a 5th wheel around.

First off, HI........

You'll get tons of recommendations, so I'll throw out a different direction.

Trucks got a ton of real estate to it, I'm basically with OCD or lazy.

This might be a great time to get a little lazy with great results.

Wash, rinse, leave wet, then use this........

McKee’s 37 Hydro Blue Sio2 Coating (http://www.autogeek.net/mckees-hydro-blue-coating.html)

It will do a great job for you and look like you spent hours.

Thanks guys, I'll have to try that sometime.

Any advice on what to use for the tires/wheels and cover?

Thanks again,
AJ

I like Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant for all exterior plastic surfaces. It truly lasts 3-4 months. I use a fresh tire applicator sponge to apply to my trim. Haven't used it on my tires yet as I have a ton of cheaper tire gels to use up. Down here in Floirda the uv rays tear up exterior plastic trim in no time. I 've been using this since it came out and my Rouge is two years old this month and trim looks great. No fading at all.

For the wheels I would go with Sonax Wheel and Rim Coating. Easy to apply and will last 6 weeks.

Tires there are some coating out there now that are suppose to last. Have not tried these yet but may be something you want to look into.
