So Mckees 37 has done it again with there new spray on rinse off Sio2 coating Hydro Blue. Prior to getting my hands on this I had asked Nick a few times if they were going to release a spray on rinse off type product. He assured me one was in the works.

A short time ago this along with some other new stuff arrived at my door for honest reviews so I got to work!

As we all know Carpro Hydro2 was a break through product when released and I for one was a big fan up until last year when they changed something in the formula. They assured me it wouldn't change anything and overall they were right but lately I had been having some issues with streaking no matter how little or much I diluted it. So getting my hands on Mckees 37 Hydro Blue was exciting since I was in the market for something different.

The test subject for this is my personal truck that lives outside. I tend to use this for a lot of testing purposes from coatings, sealants etc. Recently I polished off the coating and had been doing some testing with a new compound and sealant. And the truck hasn't been washed prior to this for a few weeks.

For this test I skipped doing wheels and tires and decided to get straight to washing the paint. Keeping with the Mckees lineup I used some Mckees extreme foam shampoo in my normal 2bm and began washing.

After a thorough wash and rinse it was time for the fun part. The difference with this product is that it's in a ready to use formula. Some may like it some not. I personally like the ready to use formula. Less time messing with dilution ratios. At 17.99 for 16oz I see getting a bunch of full applications! I did ask Nick about offering in gallons. He said he will if there's enough interest. I know that I will purchase a gallon!

One to two sprays per panel and rinse it off. Simple.

Who doesn't love beading!! And after blow drying there was no dark spots or streaking issues!

To get the remaining bit of water off I went ahead with my guzzler drying towel and some Mckees 37 high gloss detail spray and gave the truck a wipe down to finish it off.

And it just so happened to have rained out 2 days after applying Hydro Blue.

I wonder if it had the same longevity of hydro2?

Well it's already been a couple weeks since this was applied and it's holding up well. If it goes 3-4 months I would be happy.

Pulled from the McKee's site. Should answer your questions

What if we told you that coating your vehicle with protection that lasts 3 months or longer was as simple as spraying on and rinsing off with a hose? McKee’s 37 Hydro Blue does exactly that. This highly-advanced Sio2 coating is applied exactly as described above; waxing your car has never been this easy. McKee’s 37 Hydro Blue can be used as a stand-alone form of paint protection, or as a booster for your favorite paint, glass, or wheel coating. That’s right: McKee’s 37 Hydro Blue is 100% safe for ALL exterior surfaces.

Spray on, Rinse Off Nano Coating
Extremely High Gloss Finish
Safe on ALL Exterior Surfaces
Slick & Hydrophobic

McKee’s 37 Hydro Blue will quickly become your favorite car care product. Thanks to advancements in chemistry, it’s possible to formulate a surface coating that doesn’t need to be applied using traditional methods. Hydro Blue is water activated, so all you need to do is rinse it off after you spray it onto your vehicle’s exterior panels. The best time to use Hydro Blue is immediately after you wash your car, while the paint is still wet. Working one panel a time, spray Hydro Blue directly onto the surface and then rinse it off using a strong jet of water.

McKee’s 37 Hydro Blue is formulated using Sio2 technology that forms an electrostatic bond to exterior panels, enabling Hydro Blue to last 3 months or more. Not only is Hydro Blue durable, the shell of protection it creates is glossy and extremely hydrophobic. You’ll be amazed at the incredible beading and sheeting that McKee’s 37 Hydro Blue exhibits on all exterior surfaces, including paint, wheels, and glass. UVA and UVB light absorbers keep your paint from dulling or fading.

McKee’s 37 Hydro Blue is one of the best values in car care. Use this advanced coating on paintwork, glass, chrome, and plastic trim. Only a few ounces are needed to protect a full size truck or SUV. Paint will appear brighter; glass will stay cleaner; brake dust will not stick to wheels. McKee’s 37 Hydro Blue is a product for everyone – professionals and beginners.

McKee’s 37 Hydro Blue was formulated in South Florida, where the sun shines bright year-round. For this reason, Hydro Blue does not streak! Use with confidence, even in humid climates.

so....maybe stupid question here.....but let's say I have a vehicle that requires some correction...I complete that, and then need to polish to get rid of some compound haze. Would I need to do an IPA wipe down prior to using this? (I assume I'd need to re-rinse the car before application)

A IPA wipe off after polishing but before re rinsing probably wouldn't be a bad idea. Yes you would have to re rinse the vehicle.
