I joined AGO as I was buying a jeep GC last year. Unfortunately with the poor Scottish weather I've not been able to protect it as I wanted but managed to give it a quickie as it thought the weather was picking up. It wasn't supposed to be a quick one I'd intended spending the day on it giving it a thorough clean and decon, a play with my new car/pet dryer for the nooks and crannies followed by a coat of wowos detailing contact121 and some updated testing on some Bouncers wax bead juice I managed to apply previously on the bonnet.........needless to say Scottish weather got the better of me so never managed most of it.

All of my products are UK based so not sure how many you'll have used or even heard of.

The car was last washed on 18 December due to the horrible weather we've had so here's an idea of how dirty it was :(:(

I picked up the car dryer in the morning and also bought this for 20 quid at Screwfix which is a local DIY store and having used it its one of my better car related buys...

Having bought the car at the end of last year I realised I struggled on the roof  solution found which I also used as a seat whilst polishing so I think it's a great buy. It's aluminium so shouldn't rust and seems solid enough for my 14st ish frame :)

Process and products used were as follows....

- snowfoamed with Wowo's awesome foam and my Nilfisk E145
- 2BM wash with Wowo's dry shampoo (still love the smell of this)
- wheels done with a mix of products to try so Wowo's clean wheels, Angelwax Billberry wheel cleaner and Bilt Hamber auto wheel for one wheel I'd removed to give a deep clean.
- car dried with twist drying towel due to weather
- very small area polished with Wowo's show n go polish due to weather
- coat of Bouncers bead juice applied wet method again due to weather.

Pics as follows....

Wheel that I removed top is before and bottom after. Wheels are strange as the inner rim is like a dark silver / grey colour so difference is not as noticeable IMO in the pictures as real life though I spent ages on it even claying it. The car has only done 4000 miles so the face of the alloy was pretty decent anyway.

Nice write-up and great pictures.

While a lot of people show off some cool car they've detailed, (me included), it's normal daily drivers like this Jeep Cherokee that get the bulk of the detailing here in the U.S. and probably in Scotland.

I used to own a Honda Pilot, it was a good family SUV. The first time I washed it was when it sunk in that EVERYTIME I would wash it I would be getting up and down on a Werner Work Platform 5 times for each step. 2 times for each side and 1 time for the back.

Same idea as you see here with the Tahoe

I'll never own another SUV again (hopefully).

Lots of extra work to tackle the roof. Here's a tip... find a good one-step cleaner/wax for tackling the roof versus doing multiple steps.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for all the comments folks. It wasn't a full detail more a mini as mentioned the rain came and I didn't have use of the garage or any shelter!

Mike you are right from my point of view I'm only a weekend detailer so tends to be my own cars or family/friends so none of the cool cars as such.

I do it cause I enjoy it as most on here will as well and I think it's always good to show the daily drivers as well as the show Queens.

I've also got a Mazda MX5 so next time I'm giving it a detail I'll hopefully post some pics up on here as well for something different.

Looks great. I work at a Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealer and see GCs all the time. Strange not to see the steering wheel where it should be, I mean on the left.

Was actually kind of strange for me when I bought it as I'd hired a GC a couple of times in America so I'd been used to driving it as LHD :laughing:
