Going to be detailing my mums racing green Jag XF.

does anyone have any experience with this colour, i.e. Is it particularly difficult to cut? ( the car is a 2010 and the paint is looking rather flat )

also see attached, any ideas what this is ? I think it has been on the car for a while , a bit nervous of removing paint when claying it off.

thanks as ever
Justib

Are you getting color transfer from towels and clay.Hard to believe they are still using ss even back to 2010.What pads what machine and what kind of product.Sounds to me your clay is micro scratching or dulling the surface,if so if your going to polish keep at it.make sure clay is clean at all times and the suface is lubricated .

Hard to tell maybe tree sap.Clay in won't remove the embedded staining.you may need some cleaner wax or machine polishing. In some case's 2500 grit sanding would be needed. If your not experienced in doing so,take it somewhere reputable and save a mishap.

Will use torq fx10 dual action, although thinking of getting the 15mm throw rupes mk11 dual action soon.
Will be using orange hex logic cutting pads and white finishing pads with menzerna. Haven't started on the car so will see how it goes when I do. Sure there will be enough clear coat to work with but will measure regardless
