The vehicle has never been detailed since owned. A rare touchless wash after roadtrips, even though I was told the latest trip to a touchless wash was recent. This vehicle is owned by his girlfriend. The Subaru was as you can imagine in pretty rough shape. I was looking to make it to significantly better, but I wanted to do something that made sense.
I came in with the approach of an All In One and moderate spot correction for bad areas that made sense to work on.
Essentially with low expectations of the owner taking better care of her vehicle, bugs etched significantly into the clear, paint probably close to failure, and somewhat thin paint, I was not looking to get carried away.

Bugs were all over the front of this Forester

As expected.

Scratches like this of similar depth were very common.

Aside from the all in one, I did some paint correction on about 3 quarters of the paint.
No heavy cutting pads were used (i.e. no blue rupes pads). I corrected 3 quarters of the Subaru with a 1 step PF2500 and rupes yellow and green pads, or FG400 and light compounding green followed with SF3500 and yellow pad.
The level of paint correction (very fluid) varied from section to section; light, medium, to spot compounded where appropriate (I.E. - a concentration of deep scratches)

Do I see a PC7424XP in one of the reflection pictures? Nice work on the black finish. Did the color give cause you fits or smooth polishing?

Well thankyou! It went perhaps even betteer than I expected. I didn't feel that way in the moment, seeing so many paint defects that I decided against completely removing for a variety of reasons.

I try to save the Rupes for correction.

It was my first time using Blackfire Total Polish and Seal. I remember feeling embarrassed lol because I was struggling working with it on the 1st panel. But I figured it out and the product is starting to grow on me.
