Just to let anyone who orders one of these machines know, so you don't make the same mistake I did. I got my polisher today, quickly opened it to check it out. When I pulled it out I heRd something rattle. I turned it side to side, shook it. It sounded like someone had dropped screws in during assembly and just left them in there. Being in the tire business for years I've seen balancing rings, I thought maybe it was something like that. Looked through the manual and didn't see anything on it in the first 5 or 6 pages. I called AG and Tommy was going to send me a new polisher. When I went to repackage it I found a little sticker on the plastic bag that said "Internal balancing system will rattle when shaken" sure enough they used a similar balancing technology. So...the rattle is normal. Actually it's a great technology to use when you have a machine that is designed for two different size plates and pads. As it spins the bearings migrate to the light spot and balance the assembly. The more I think about it the more I like this technology in this polisher, it will allow you to use different manufacturers pads with no negative effect on the smoothness of the machine. Anyone know if the first version of this machine had this feature??

I believe there was a similar story when the original version came out.

Yeah same tech
The new version only fixes the BP mounting issue they had and redesigned the venting route for cooler operation
PS this should of came with the 5in BP factory out the box..
Kinda felt weak with the 6in

There's a video on Youtube with Rob from Sonax where he states that the gears and motor have been improved, and he says it's quieter and smoother than the last model. I don't have any proof of all the improvements so you can take all that at face value. I noticed that the brass inserts go all the way through the shroud which I didn't see in any pictures of the older ones.

Brass inserts:

Here's the cooling holes in the shroud:

Just a couple pics if anyone was interested.

With the brass inserts going all the way through no need to mark the backing plate. You can actually see them spinning. It's definitely quiet.

sounds good if the other upgrades are indeed true.

Ill def be part of my lineup at some point.

I figured they would of did aluminum sleeve inserts, instead of brass
