Can be so difficult to finish. Working on a '17 black Honda Accord. I'm finishing with a GG 6". Looks good under artificial lighting, but still see slight "holograms" in sunlight.

Here's what I'd suggest... After your final pass with your DA polisher, do a light hand polish to remove any DA haze, then continue on from that point.

In the old days when I used to paint and rotary polishers were the norm, my final compounding/polishing step was always by hand for the high end jobs. It doesn't take much hand effort when you're only trying to remove the machine haze/holograms, especially on soft paint.

There's something about Honda black, Subaru black metallic, and BMW jet black. When trying to finish down there's always this feint white haze to it IME. I combated this problem by finishing off with Carpro Essence. Give it a try it might help as well.

Used several different pads with HD POLISH and the KB M205/water mix. No dice. Going to give Sonax 04-06 and CarPro Essence a try.

Thanks for the hand technique. Interesting.

Do what 2black said. Boy and I thought my Mitsubishi black paint was bad :(. Hand polishing with a finishing compound/polish should be gentle enough.

The KB and M204/water mix works for 99 percent of soft paint but to be honest with any of the soft Japanese paint, an orange pad and Essence will actually correct and not just polish so you might wanna try CarPro Essence worked for a bit longer with a spritz of distilled water after the 4th pass with a soft finishing pad.

i just tried hd polish on one of my panels side by side with m205. imo neither one finishes down perfect you need an ultrafine like rupes diamond or sf-3800 if you want it to be that much closer to perfect. im new to this stuff though so take it with a grain of salt

Menzerna 35/3800 or CarPro Essence. Work both with a white or black pad even. Both do great for me on such paints.

Hd speed on black pad worked nice on a black Lexus recently maybe could've even went to a blue pad, i should've just switched to a finer polish but instead just switched up the pad and kept on truckin

I've had great success on black Honda/Acura paint with Hyper Polish on a finishing pad.

Scholl honey spider pads also finish very well with essence IME... just as an additional proven option.

Try Groits One Step Sealant after the cutting, in most cases it should do the trick, however I just had the same issue working on a black Kia.
Only thing that worked for me was Mothers Cleaner Wax but wasn't doing a full paint correction.
