Rupes 21 pad size

Does anybody use the rupes 21 with 6" rupes pads on the stock backing plate? I was told this would work and when I got my rupes 21 in, the 6" pads were to small... I know rupes recommends to use the 7" pads, but I was told the 6" works good as well. Any help would be great. I dropped $500 on these 6" pads.....

Lotsa folks use the 5" backing plate (and 6"pads) on the 21 for increased manuverability and getting into smallest areas. Might look into that option as many feel that while the 6"plate/7" pad combo is good for large flat panels, it's a more useful and all around effective tool with the 5" plate/6" pad combo for all other areas.

7 inch rupes pads are for using with the 6 inch backing plate
6 inch rupes pads are for the 5 inch backing plate

in the rupes world 7 inchs is the outside diameter while they actually are 6 inch on the hook and loop side
same with the 6 inch,they are 6 inch on the outside and 5 inch on the hook and loop side
