Thanks again!

I finally had a chance yesterday to detail the Lexus, which took me a full part of the day (finished around midnight last night). Wash, clay, correction, and then polish. I ended up using the D300/D301 combvo, and did not have time to put on the Blackfire. The correction did what I needed it to do, and took out the majority of the swirl marks. The lighting does not do it justice, looking forward to seeing it in daylight but the wife took the car to work this morning.

The one thing which I was not able to correct (which I was sure I would not fix), is the defects below. Anyone have any idea what these spots could be from? I have multiple spots on the hood, and a few in other locations as well. This was a Florida car that I just purchased a month ago and drove home to MN.

Painn chips that someone tried to fix, or somethig else?

Could be etched from bird poop that was not removed quick enough.

You had to go all the way from MN to FL to buy that car? Why, if you don't mind me asking?

That mystery spot looks like tree sap, is it above or below the surface?

I looked for a while and there are little to no used RX350's in the Midwest for sale by private parties. There are plenty at dealerships, but all of them wanted a premium especially the certified pre-owned. The ones that were available at the price point I wanted had high miles or were in not as good of shape. The dealerships in MN and surrounding area would have priced this one around $6k over what I paid.

That, and the wife was very specific with what she wanted (year, color, features, etc). It's not the first time I have flown somewhere for a car and driven it home, and won't be the last!

Not sure on if it's above or below, but pretty sure it's below. I will look closer when the car is home.

It appears that these spots are etched into the paint. Definitely not a rock chip. My guess is as someone mentioned above that it's etched from bird poop.
