this is a finishing pad, the description says it has light polishing ability? what good is that when applying more then one coat of wax? the second coat will just polish off the first coat am i right? doesnt make sense. anyone know what the thought is on making a finishing pad with cut? i dont get it

Light polishing ability when using an abrasive polish like any pad would. When used with a non abrasive product like wax or sealant it will not have any cut. Make sense?

Arguably the second coat of wax "polishes off" the first coat no matter how you apply it, at least to some degree. The idea of layering has had quite a bit of discussion on car forums over the years.

The foam itself has no abrasive qualities. It's rigidity allows for it to withstand pressure for finish polishing.

I always used it to apply sealants.
