I plan on detailing our 2-month old red car today and I was wondering on the steps.

My plan is to use HD Speed and finish with Pinnacle Black Label Sealant or Collinite 845, question is, should I IPA wipe after cleaning with HD Speed or can I just top it off with either Pinnacle or Collinite?

Thanks!

You can just top it off, do not ipa. Personally for me, I top Speed with HD Poxy as it's synergistic since Speed has Poxy in it. But you can top it with anything. I just prefer to stay in the family of products when I do a vehicle.

No need to wipe it down.

Thanks, all! I don't have HD Poxy yet. I only have a small collection, slowly but surely growing :awesome:

Poxy is an amazing value.

Love the synergistic approach! Partly the reason I bought the Klasse Twins last year.

But now I'm looking to get a DA to remove swirls and am wondering if I need a new set of products. I know that KAIO doesn't have any abrasives and wouldn't do much for the swirls.

In addition to considering products for a 3-step system, I've also been thinking about using an AIO like HD Speed. But I wonder if using it twice a year on my daily driver (spring and fall detail) might end up removing too much clearcoat in the long run (a few years of this process). Then again an AIO is less aggressive than most compounds and polishes, right?

I also have the Klasse Twins that I used once earlier in the year. The HD Speed and the Pinnacle Black Label are the new ones I've got and I wanted to try. Originally planning on using HD Speed and Collinite 845, but since I got a Pinnacle by accident, I wanted to try it as well.

It's hard to beat the Poxy for the price, maybe the best value here. That and it goes on & comes off so easy.

I should probably add it to my cart, I'm just waiting for the forwarder to reply whether they can ship the Megs Super Degreaser, I'm not sure if it counts as prohibited items in the chemicals category. Hoping they get back to me before sale ends.

Pinnacle Black Label sealant is fantastic. SPEED/POXY is an awesome combo, too.

Lots of good sealants to top with. I tend to use 476 for durability and being winter in many places is why I mention it. 845 is great too and when warmed in hot water, easy as can be to apply.

Ha, the man has 845 and PBL sealant! I think he'll be fine with either.

But.....you could always top it with Synergy!!!

I'm going to be working on it tonight, and then apply another coat tomorrow.
