Awesome class with around 25 people attending. Before I share the pictures of the cars, first here's most of the class, by the time we finished and took this group shot about 5 or 6 people had to leave.

Products Used

We also did a number of Facebook Live Videos which I'll include below. A number of people watching the videos asked what products we used to restore the paint on this car and the answer is,

We used the SONAX EX-O4-O6 to remove the swirls.

We used the the SONAX High Speed Wax to seal the paint.

We used the SONAX Tire Gloss Gel for the tires after cleaning them with SONAX Multistar All Purpose Cleaner

We used the SONAX Glass Cleaner for the inside and outside windows.

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/data/3258/1947_Lincoln_Zephyr_Coupe_027.jpg

Before everyone arrived I used the SONAX Full Effect Wheel Cleaner Plus to clean the wheels.

I used the SONAX Fallout Remover on the paint before washing the car to remove any fallout or other contaminants.

The morning after the class I used the SONAX Chrome and Aluminum Polish on the hood ornament and some of the other trim for the finishing touch.

Here's how she looked using the SCANGRIP Sunmatch Swirl Finder Light when I did my review for the SCANGRIP Sunmatch Swirl Finder Light

This is a 1947 Lincoln Zephyr that is here for a detailing class on machine polishing paint.

When you see the swirls you'll completely understand what the car is here...

This picture is a picture without the light on and only using overhead florescent lights.

In this picture you can see my hand and the light, which are in focus while the fender and the light on the fender are out of focus. I want you to see that I'm holding the light about a foot and a half from the fender.

Moving around to the other side of the car, here's the passenger side fender with only overhead florescent lights....

Here's a few action shots, note everyone is allowed to use any tool they choose... the thing I would point out is no matter what tool was used the SONAX EX-04-06 worked flawless and removed the swirls in one step and left the paint LSP ready.

This is Grace. She is incredible when it comes to machine polishing paint to perfection. What I like about Grace is she is hyper-focused when working on the cool cars we have here at Autogeek.

This is Al, this is his first time using a Griot's 6" DA Polisher.

On top is Craig. Craig is one of our regulars and it looks like he's using the FLEX XFE7

Here's Rohan, this was his first time here and he drove all the way from Miami. This was his first time using the RUPES 21

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/data/3258/1947_Lincoln_Zephyr_Coupe_057.jpg

Here's my good friend Jeff that you all know as GSKR - He's an expert with any polisher especially the rotary buffer.

Jeff's showing off by running the Griot's BOSS G21 with one hand!

Tackling some of the deeper scratches, here's Jeff using the FLEX 3401 aka the BEAST with SONAX CutMax

To max out the gloss after the CutMax Antti goes over the same section with the RUPES BigFoot 21 with a RUPES white soft foam finishing pad and the SONAX EX-06-04

Excellent work Mike, and congrats to the entire class, the car is beautiful.
The SONAX EX 04-06 must be quite a compound to correct that amount of damage to the paint with a DA polisher, I remember the Plymouth Superbird "Swirl City" turned out awesome as well.:dblthumb2:

Outstanding work team. :xyxthumbs:

I saw a little of this on the live feed via Facebook. Quite the turn around & definitely looking proper now. Its very refreshing to see a street rod on some wheels that aren't 20s too. I like this Lincoln, it's unusual looking & not something too common down here.

Thank you sir!

Excellent work Mike, and congrats to the entire class, the car is beautiful.

Thanks Craig, appreciate the time you take to chime in... many of the people that worked on this car had never machine buffed before.

The SONAX EX 04-06 must be quite a compound to correct that amount of damage to the paint with a DA polisher,

It's an top notch product. SONAX has great abrasive technology and while technique is a factor abrasive technology is much more important. This car proves my point in that people that have never machine buffed before don't have technique yet... that's what they're learning. The abasive technology was the key factor here.

I remember the Plymouth Superbird "Swirl City" turned out awesome as well.

:dblthumb2:

The Superbird was a LOT worse than this it had actual holograms and my class did a super extreme show car makeover to it.

This car was horrendously swirled and the paint was hard as they come. The Sonax product knocked it out effortlessly.

I love attending these classes mike dedicates his time to train everyone that attends for free. Everyone is laid back and super friendly. we get to use cutting edge products and the latest machines and very cool cars to work on. I don't think there is such a opportunity to learn detailing and have a good time for free. I want to say thanks Mike and autogeek for making this possible

For everyone who wants to attend, if you are in the area stop by and soak up free knowledge from world renowned detail guru Mike Phillips.

Great experience and have been attending for 5 years now thanks Mike for all you do for us.
