Well spent the day with the family and we went looking at all the new cars being offered for 2008. Some interesting little tidbits this year included the Jeep Test Track, GM's Autoshow in Motion, Bumblebee, a C6 Corvette Convertible suspended from the roof by wire, and a Scion display of 12 different customized cars stacked three high above their display.

What I will note, is none of the cars had nicely detailed paint. Infact most were using wool dusters to clean car, and old rags with some no-name spray. Jaguar and Lexus had some deep rich coloring on paint and truly looked special.

The biggest thing in paint appears to be a new gold hued clearcoat that they all seem to be using especially GM. I was also amazed to see just how many ground effect kits Toyota is using which seems to have been a 90's tradition. Of course the teflon wax boys, and the lifetime tire gloss booths were in attendance. Nothing much else to note, other than most manufacturers have also done alway with the showgirls ... probably for the best.

Scott, was this the "New International Car Show" in Tampa? If so, we(my family and I) were going to go there today (an hour away) as we do most every year, but decided not to go. Next time you go to something like that, post it! Would have gone if I would have known you'd be there!!!

truth be told, it was more about family. I grew up around new cars and have been to every car show since I was about 3 and now mid-thirties. It truly was more about my father and my son (his grandson) carrying on the tradition. Sitting in lots of cars, pressing buttons, and quoting stats. Here are a few my wife took:

OIC. I enjoy it every year and find myself drooling over a lot of the models. I always LOVE turning the corner where all of the exotics are:righton:

Scott, nice pics. That kid is something else. I'm glad you're teaching him early, and good taste on his choice for his X-mas present! :D
