Hello once again AGO!!!

A few months back I received some awesome products from Nick and the AG team to test out and write a review on. I've been waiting for appropriate conditions to try out each product, and given my most recent road trip, this was perfect time to try out Wolfgang Bug Remover Spritz.

The test subject was my 2015 Chrysler 300 with the only LSP on it of D156 at this time. My wife and I recently took it from the East coast of Florida (Royal Palm Beach) to the West coast of Florida (Sanibel Island) for a weekend getaway. In order to get there, the fastest way was to drive through farm country. If you're not familiar with Florida South of Lake Okeechobee, we are captivated by miles and miles of sugarcane fields, so you can imagine the amount of bugs that would come out to play at night.

This sounds crazy, but I waited about a week for the bugs to really bake onto the front of my car because I wanted to see how well this product could do with stubborn bugs.

Anyway, enough blabbing... let's stake a look at the pictures!

PASSENGER SIDE FRONT OF CAR:

A liberal amount of the product was sprayed all over the front of the car. This included the bumper, grill, headlights, and trim pieces. I really enjoyed how well this foamed up and seemed to cling to the surface which you can see below:

From here I let the product dwell for about 5 minutes as I really wanted it to soak in. After the dwell, I rinsed it off with my hose and the nozzle set to the full stream blast (handle squeezed all the way). As you can see, it did a pretty decent job of breaking down the bugs as a bunch of them just rinsed away!

I then followed up with a foam gun and 2BM wash, and the remaining bugs came off with ease. I only used my standard microfiber wash mitt, and didn't have to do any extra passes or intense scrubbing beyond what I normally do. Here's the car after the wash:

It turned out fantastic!

FINAL THOUGHTS:

In my mind, the product worked as intended. The bugs really came off with ease ESPECIALLY after baking in for over a week. Due to the cost I would only use this in extreme bug cases like this, but it's a fantastic product to have on hand if you need a little extra "umph" to clean your car during a buggy season. (Florida love bug season, anyone?)

It honestly solved the problem of having to use a more aggressive means of cleaning the bugs off (bug sponge, more pressure, or multiple passes), and I would highly recommend it for someone looking for a dedicated bug cleaner.

Thanks for reading, and if you have any questions, just let me know!

Thanks for the review. One question...since this stuff is so pricey...do you feel it's really worth the extra cost? It's basically double the cost of Kenotech Anti Insect or Poorboys Bug Squash.

Great review and thanks for putting the bumper at risk with a week of baked bugs, all for our benefit.

That's really tough for me to say especially since I haven't compared it to the other brands of dedicated bug removers. In fact, I've NEVER used a dedicated bug remover up until this test.

Here's a couple of reasons why, and my methodology behind that:

1. I HATE uni-task products. The majority of my arsenal is centered around products that can multitask.

- ONR is used for Rinseless, QD, and Clay Lube.
- AIO products are replacing the need for multi-step corrections with an additional LSP for my needs. I say my needs because the daily drivers I work on (mine and my wifes) have soft paint and are generally kept in good condition so major correction work isn't necessary.
- APC can be used for a variety of cleaning from interior on plastic, vinyl, or leather AND help cut through some real nasty stuff in carpets and the exterior of a vehicle based upon the dilution ratios.

2. When it comes to bug removal, I believe that the goal behind safe removal is to soften the bug remains so that they require less effort to remove. (The less harsh you are during washes, the better)

- I typically achieved this with bugs by taking some undiluted car shampoo (right out of the bottle) into my hand, and applying it directly to the bugs after a good rinse to help them soften.
- I would then wash the rest of the car and finally get to the impacted areas which allowed for about 10 minutes of safe saturation. Once I began to wash they would come off much easier because they were more softened than if I didn't pre-saturate the panel.

I can say this... the amount of bugs removed with this product compared to my car shampoo pre-soak was a pretty noticeable difference. That is why I absolutely think this product does what it is designed for.

Now... Since I have never compared to the other dedicated bug removers, I can't explicitly state whether or not this works better or worse. Maybe someone who has experience with those other ones and this one can chime in to let us know their thoughts.

Sorry for the long winded answer, I just wanted to be as specific as possible.

So natewood70, would you actually buy this uni-task product given your preferences above? Just curious if you would put your hard-earned money down on a bottle before I spend mine :)

The short answer: YES. During love-bug season here I would absolutely love to have this on hand to tackle those satanic hell-spawns!

The long answer: Despite it being a uni-task product, it is still a great product for what it claims to do. I absolutely do prefer having multitask products, but that's not always the case. For example... I have a plethora of LSP's like many of us on here do. Typically the school of thought is that specific ones will last longer than others... Coating > Sealant > Wax (I know you can break it down into sub categories for each one, but you get the idea). Despite having a coating and sealants available, I still find myself purchasing the $95 a tub of Pinnacle Souveran. Which for me is absolutely a uni-task product. Why is that? Follow along for some more fun into my brain!

Most of us who have used Pinnacle Souveran know that it makes black, red, and metallic paint look absolutely gorgeous. To me it's a finishing/show/beauty wax to give your paint system a little extra something something... I don't use it all the time, and I certainly don't use it for paint protection longevity, but on the occasion I want my car to look it's absolute best I put a coating of this wax onto her without a second thought. I don't do it for protection (which mind you, is one of the reasons wax was applied to vehicles in the first place), I do it simply because it looks awesome.

So... Yes... I would buy it, but only use it in extreme cases of bug infestation. It is a uni-task product, but that doesn't detract from how well it performs for that one specific task. Comparing this to the pre-soak with soap, or QD, or APC, this absolutely takes the cake in terms of how easily the bugs can be removed.

Here's a dancing banana just for fun (It's a unitasker, but still fun to look at):

Thanks for the review! I may have to try this when I run out of Poorboy's Bug Squash. One of the things I found with Bug Squash is that it can leave some kind of mark on the plastic headlight lenses of my 350Z. I forget exactly what it is. So I don't use it on the headlights anymore.
