Those will work too.

It's not a science. As long as the pad is well supported, then it's fine.

I use 5.5 pads with mine. No problemo!

There is a balance factor here as well. Too large of a finishing pad on a small backing plate could be an issue. But if Carolinas Finest states no problem then it's probably worth trying out. If you have ever had a tire out of balance you know what I mean. You may feel it. Also as noted above please see that you have it centered properly.

if you use 5.5" pads you'll have a little safety margin as the backing plate is a little smaller than the 5" velcro on the pad...

Just to note....

There's not a lot of 5" pad options. Actually... I can't think of any.

There are a LOT of 5.5" pad options.

As long as you center the 5" velcro backing on the 4 3/8" backing plate the tool and pad will buff paint all day long.

Yes just as Mike said, center the pad up and you will be on your way. Love my flex with the 5.5 pads.

Should I get the lake country Thin pads or the lake country flat pads to use with my flex? I already have a set of the lake country ccs 6 1/2" pads.

BTW I am going to be using it on 2015 black Tahoe that needs compound polish and wax.

Mike, aren't these the premiere 5" pads for the Flex? They're all I use because of this forum.
