Which do you have better results with? I currently go back and forth with my Mikita rotary and flex 3401. It's seems that the rotary is always out performing the DA on gloss and depth . This of course after the correction process, I'm strictly talking polishing (final step), not compounding. I just worry that I'm instilling micro swirls with the Polish and a rotory.

Thanks for the help!

I would say i almost equally distribute my finish polishing between my Hitachi rotary and my Flex 3401. The former for harder paints and the latter for medium to soft paints. for extremely soft paints i use my PC DA.

My PE-14 on hard German paints with a black finishing pad, polish and speed 1(600rpm) finishes better than my 3401.

Agreed. Does it leave any kind of swril mark?

Nope, just awesome clarity. Trick is just use weight of the machine, speed 1,soft finishing pad and finishing polish. Cleans up any holograms from the rotary compounding step if any and jewels too.

Have you checked your results with
any "swirl finding" light sources?

Also:
This Mike Phillips article has some
pertinent rotary information, IMO:
