Howdy all, new to the forum here. I'm ordering a bunch of new detailing products and I received Zaino z6, z8 and Optimum Spray wax. Well I must have confused myself because Z8 is a sealant and if I read correctly, Optimum Spray Wax is one as well. So did I order two products that do the same job?

Thanks!

Z8 is the predecessor of the likes of ultimate spray wax. Optimums has UV protection in it as well as caranuba, produces a softer glow similar to a wax, whereas Z8 is a very bright look with probably minimal durability and no UV protection to speak of.

Blackfire Midnight Sun Carnauba Spray Wax. This stuff is the real deal. You'll never utter the words Zaino again after using this truly remarkable spray wax. It's a breeze to apply and truly adds durability along with amazing shine:

Jeff explained it very well. Opti-Seal would be the sealant from optimum.

IMO:
Yes; if the job you're talking about is
providing a sacrificial barrier (protection).

However:
I'll venture that the Optimum Car Wax
(OCW) will have more longevity than
the Z-8.

•Split a panel (hood) down the middle.
-Apply Z-8 to 1/2; OCW to the other 1/2.
-Be a watchful sentinel; and, then please
report back with your findings. Thanks.

Hands-down, OCW has 4-6 months of durability with a properly prepped surface. No joke.

I have no doubt you saw this kind of durability from the product, but I find it amazing that there are spray wax/sealant products on the market now with the same durability and properties of my faithful 845. The fact I could simply spray the stuff on and then buff it off as I walk around the vehicle makes the whole application process of a traditional LSP seem really labor intensive and out of date.

Well Optimum's big claim to fame is changing the detailing game through technology. You can wash, clay and wax a car now safely and effectively in less than an hour with 2 gallons of water. When somebody brings a car to me now for a wash and wax, it's ONR and Optimum Car Wax all day every day. It's bumped my profit margin up like nothing else ever has and haven't had a single complaint yet.

I'd agree that's good stuff. However, I've always wondered what happened to the aerosol can version? Glad I have 3-4 cans left.

If you stick around here for a while, you'll realize how silly it sounds to most of us that you ONLY have 2 products to do the same job...most of us have 8 or 10.

But seriously, yes, Z-6 is a quick detailer, Z-8 is a spray sealant, and OCW is a spray wax. So yes, technically Z-8 and OCW "do the same job", but they are very different products. Maybe sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't...and some days or some cars you might feel like Z-8, while other days or other cars you might feel like OCW.

Just out of curiosity, what did you think you were buying with these 3 products? Two QD's and one spray wax? Then you would still have had two products doing the same job.

Please post a picture of the aerosol can, I've never seen that?

What I like about the can is I can wash/dry and spray the whole car is no time flat, without rubbing it in. Just let product haze in about 5-15min and wipe off.

I've used Z6 for ages after Z2 and everyday as a quick detailed. I still use Z2 w/ZFX. Now, I use Optimum Spray Way on top and then either Z6 or McKees 37 Super Gloss Spray or Z6 ( I think they're the same) on top. Bought the 128 oz McKees because it's cheaper than the Z6 they way.
