What can I use on the black plastic on my running boards that will look good but not be slippery?

Thanks!

One of my clients is a personal injury lawyer .He sued them big time cause a lady slipped on the running board and she broke her leg at a Newely built car wash.He looked at the product used, and says don't apply on running boards.Easy score for him.Read the instructions before applying anything on running boards.a lot of the chemical manufacturers state use at your risk and claim no responsibility.

"Zero slick" might be a stretch. Just a simple wash of running boards can make them a little more slippery than pre-wash. But I wouldn't say they add significant slickness like some of the products that are more greasy in nature.

Solution Finish to bring back the lustre and then topped with Wolfgang exterior trim sealant.

For me, if it isn't zero slick I won't put it on running boards, rubber matts, or pedals. Things can get downright dangerous in a hurry, especially when you consider it could be a lady passenger getting in later that evening wearing high heels. Ouch.

Steering wheel and automatic gearshift I've never considered a big deal. But any parts the feet touch I just can't chance it for others.

I didn't read the instructions for Ultima Tire & Trim Gel and put about four heavy coats on my father-in-law's running boards. They were slick for a while. Dangerously slick. My fault. If I'd used the product sparingly, his running boards would've been okay.

I have been using Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant per the recomendations of this forum. I have had no slippery steps at all. I use it on the steps on the bumpers and on the black plastic around the bed rail as well.

I use M40 VERY sparingly and wipe/buff it off as much as possible too.

I’ve been breaking my own rules lately when it comes to dressing the running boards on a GMC Denali that I maintain... I’ve used a few products and as far as initial results I found Meguiars Ultimate Black [lotion] made it look just about perfect just after application. Fast forward 10 days... I knew this would be the case.

Btw what the heck was GM thinking putting a strip of plastic chrome on the running boards? This truck has less than 6k miles on it and that chrome strip is already permanently crazed. They also put plastic chrome on the kick panels. That’s stupid!

“Dressing” exterior trim always results in a catch 22.
Looks good at 1st, but attracts tons of dirt + leaves a slick finish which I shouldn’t have been doing in the 1st place.

I ran out of the Megs Ultimate Black and was about to use Hyper Dressing on them... But when I looked at the clean floormatts I had just vacuumed I decided to rethink my plan for dressing the running boards. Nomore.

Instead I’m going to give my customer a freebie today and over deliver. I’m going to do the right thing and just coat the black plastic trim on those running boards. I’ll try to take some pics.[emoji328]
