What would you charge.... plz read, need help by tomorrow

to detail this monster?? The guy used to take it to another "detailer", and he would do inside/out for $175. When he first asked me, the number $450 popped up in my head, however he's got 2 other limos, and im doing his personal vehicles.. so i don't wanna rake him across the coals too bad. I'm thinking since he only gets it done once a year, WGDGS on the outside, WG metal sealant on rims, and fabric protection also sealing the inside. Here are some pics...

I assume it is only a wash and wax if that for $175. If it only gets done once a year wouldnt u use Collinite or something used for winter on it. I have no experience with the wolfgang sealant so you know how it last more than me. Doesn't look like its in too bad condition from the pics. The outside has alot of flat panels so that helps until you get to the front lol. How long do you think it will take you?

we really dont have 'winters' in my part of texas. good 4-6 hrs of work. maybe longer for the interior.... lots of little places

I would think that you would want to compare that to the average size vehicle and the cost on that. Then take into account the size of this thing and go from there. I would think that something in the $450 range would be fair for something like this.

Due to the wide variance in what members of AG charge I don't think it will be of much value for you to ask what "we" would charge. What I mean is, if you do an Audi A4 and 5 other members do the same vehicle, chances are all 6 detailers would charge a different rate.

If I were quoting this vehicle I would take into consideration the size and correlate that to a vehicle which I have done before and established a solid time on... What I am saying is this: Let's say the vehicle in question is 2.5 times the size of a vehicle you do regularly. Let's say the vehicle you regularly do takes 2 hours. 2*2.5= 5 hours... then use that 5 hours to calculate how much to charge based on your normal hourly rate.

EDIT: I would also think that considering this vehicle is only done once a year you may want to go with an lsp with more durability than WG, even though you are in Texas (no snow), durability is durability, and a year is a year regardless of where you are

You are definitely in the ball park and here is my rationale. Going rate for an RV is $10/ft. That limo appears to be 36-40 feet (a guess). The limo is going to use a lot more product in the interior, glass, top (don't do on RV), and I think take more hours than an RV. The only place that you will get a slight break over an RV is the size of the tires and wheels and a little on the sides. $450 seems very fair IMO but understand a rate for doing his other two.

A good rurable sealant is Duragloss #105, there is no way you'll get 6 months of protection from Wolfgang Sealant, maybe on door jambs only. After 4 months protection will be gone from Wolfgang sealant.

I'd say that what we talked about the other day is fair. Maybe a little less since you are doing his other vehicles. But your time is your money. You don't want to do it for nothing. That is a lot of real estate on that bad boy! I'd say $400-$500.

Dust I would DG501 that white then top with DG105. The results are crazy on white with DG. Did I mention it doesn't dust or stain trim :)

$200 should be fair @ $25hr and don't forget your mobile. He shouldn't blink at that number! 2.5hrs for outside and 1.5 for inside and your done.

If you are sticking with a sealant 105 is harder than nails in the durability dept. - Collinite 845IW and 476 have great durability as well.

IMO $175 for a wash and wax of that beast is a bit low but then again that is very dependant on your normal hourly rate. Off the cuff I would estimate it at about $240.

I wouldn't go near that for less than $350, like you said to many crevices to have to tend to on the interior, Not to mention all those windows. I would be more satisfied getting $450, that is a whole day job to do there.
