I think the paint and the vinyl plastic window on this 1996 BMZ Z3 are near the point of no return...

We're going to do everything we can to save the paint and restore clarity to the back window.

I've seen clarity restored to those vinyl convertible windows. I'm guessing Mike and the crew have more than enough skill. Looking forward to the after photos.

I'd probably try Megs Plast-X on that rear window.

Will be interesting to see what Mike and crew come up with.

Please be sure to post after pics when it's done! :)

If only I lived close to AG...

Ouch! That poor BMW has been neglected.

Will be on the lookout on how it turns out.

Actually, we carry a product in the Marine 31 line for removing scratches, yellowing, oxidation and cloudiness out of eisenglas vinyl windows on canvas enclosures on boats. I cover this in my boat detailing book which is the most in-depth book I've ever written coving pretty much all aspects of boat detailing.

Pages 85 to 86 covers how to restore clear vinyl windows by hand or machine.

McKee's, even better! Nice! Since I have a phobia of water, can't swim, I normally pay no attention to boats. :)

Please sign me up, Mike. I would like to invite a friend with a silver Z3 M. I just completed successful cataract surgery on both eyes and look forward to seeing a glassy black finish through restored eyes. Enjoy your holiday!

Try McKees Vinyl on that plastic window. That stuff is wicked strong. I would like to see what it can do. I've seen worse BMW paint. Menz 300/400 follow up with CarPro Essence and kaboom! BMW paint hard. Or you could go with Rupes blue followed by Rupes yellow. So many polishes, so little time. Is this AJ from Competition Ready personal car?

I'm not sure it's going to be powerful enough. This plastic back window is either past the point of no return or very close to it. It's going to take something with some abrading power.

I've seen worse BMW paint.

Me too...

Here's a blast from the past...

All original paint...

Before

I compounded the entire finish before starting the below process to remove the shallow scratches and expose the deep scratches.

Random, Isolated, Deeper Scratches, (RIDS), can be removed, but it is an advanced technique that takes skill, patience and the right products to accomplish successfully. (A little luck helps too!)

Then down the road a few years this dramatic before and after was used on the label when SwirlX was introduced...

I used this car for IDA SV Testing on Monday and now there's two almost perfect Test Spots on the hood using McKee's compounds and polishes with a FLEX 3401

Is this AJ from Competition Ready personal car?

Nope... I think she drives an Audi R8 for a daily driver and for a toy has a 1968 Firebird by Chip Foose.

This belongs to our AJ that works in the warehouse. You may have seen this car in a recent new product review and how-to I wrote...
