View Full Version : Waterless Wash on Light Film?

I have a waterless wash question - Sunday I detailed my truck from top to bottom, Optimum NRWW, Opti-Seal as a drying aid, followed by some OCW. Man it was looking great! Fast forward to Tuesday when I was driving and there was a light drizzle in the air, not really raining per se, just a light drizzle which left a bit of film on the surface.

Based on the 2 articles below, I see that you shouldn't use a quick detailer on anything but very light (not surfaced attached) dust, however I have a very light film from the drizzle. It's definitely not something I want to break out the bucket (nor do I have time during the week) and do a Rinseless wash on, especially since I just did that a few days ago lol.

My question is this - Should you use a waterless wash such as Optimum Opti-Clean for in between the full-on washes? Followed up by a spritz of OCW perhaps?

I am perplexed by the fact it is a film, and want to remove it in the safest way to get me by until the next wash.

As long as you saturate the panel with onr, and soak the first mf towel with solution, should not be any issues. I've never had scratches or swirls doing it this way. Key is to completely spritz the panel.

It is better to leave it alone until you can touch it correctly what ever method that may be. I tried touching my paint with less than correct methods when I started learning from AGO and spent hours correcting them after.

•The below link will access an excellent
road film article by Mike Phillips.

•IMO:
-It shows that:
"road film is a little more in-depth",
than once it was perhaps thought to be...
