Afternoon folks,

My car is currently coated with cquartz UK and had a layer of PBL synergy wax on it. So when I first did my car, I ordered the 50 ml bottle which left me more than enough left over. Seeing as how it's just my car, I wanna use up the coating.

I know that a polishing pad with a finishing polish like Reflect will wipe the coating and Synergy off but I'm hoping to find a method to remove Synergy without stripping the coating. I was actually wondering if PBL paint cleanser will do the trick or something along those lines? I know that PBL paint cleanser is meant to remove old wax before the pbl coating is applied but would Synergy be too stubborn for a chemical paint cleanser like that? Or if anyone has any suggestions as to how I could do this without polishing off the coating, that'd be great as well.

How about an IPA wipe with something like Eraser. Perhaps that will remove it.

I considered that since I don't think the bond will be that strong considering it's a ceramic wax but on a differently branded coating but then again I unno if it would be strong enough to take it off. I'm thinking maybe just pure ipa from the bottle mixed half half with eraser.

Since it's recommended to use
Pinnacle BL Surface Cleansing Polish
to "clean/prep the surface" before
applying the Synergy...

Was this, or some other product(s),
applied to the CQuartz UK, to make
sure that the Coating would provide
that aforementioned clean/prepped
surface, to receive the Synergy?

Just curious.

Cquartz UK got a carpro reset wash and then a double eraser wipe down before I applied synergy so it was just the bare coating topped with the wax. I used eraser as a drying aid and to clean off any possible residue left after I generally used UWW to wash my car before this point.

•I wonder what effect a doubling-down,
with a product that contains between
~12.5-29.0% IPA, has on CQuartz UK?

•That is to say: Afterwards...how much
(if any) of the Coating was actually left?

Not much effect actually, after it's fully cured after a week eraser doesn't do much.

Have you coated the wheels yet? If not you can use it on them as well.

I don't like my current factory rims and I'm gonna wait until next spring to get the ones I actually like so my rims just get ironx and meguiars upw. Once I get new wheels, I'm considering between a few wheel coatings.

I'll paraphrase/use Mike Phillips' below
format in order to express my thoughts
regarding your above posting.

As for will this product remove a coat of wax
or synthetic paint sealant, let's put this question
in extremes, one of my favorite ways of using
a question as a teaching moment.

Question: Will the CarPro Eraser ADD
more protection to a CQUK coated surface?
Answer: No.

Question: What's the opposite
meaning of the word ADD?
Answer: _____________

I think that's true for most instances but Avi from Carpro has stared once cquartz uk had cured for at least an hour, eraser doesn't do anything to it.

I will state it's my humble opinion there is no way to reliably remove this wax without possibly affected the coating.

This isn't a regular "wax" - it's quit durable. I would say just leave it alone - or use an abrasive polish and start over.

How many passes do you folks think is sufficient to really remove the Synergy? I pretty much coated my car from new so I'm not quite sure what pad. I was thinking white polishing or black finishing with carpro reflect.
