It`s been quite a while since I have the chance to post a write up on a detail but with some time on my hands I decided to tackle my girlfriends Lexus RX 330. Nothing spectacular here and just a quick detail. The car sees a ton of abuse and tunnel washes so I was not looking for anything close to perfection. The paint had not been clayed in a least two years and was in desperate need of some care. The paint actually has a pearl flake in it and it was amazing how much a simple clean up brought out it out in the finish.

Process: Total Time 4 hrs

Wash with Meguiars NXT soap (yes I still found some of this laying around lol)
Paint decon`d with Speed Prep Clay towel and ONR Lube
Wheels cleaned with Wolfgang Uber wheel cleaner
Tires cleaned with McKee`s 37 Tire and Rubber Rejuvenator
Polish with PB Polish with Sealant (PWS) via Griots GG and Lake Country Tangerine pad
LSP=PB EXP
Wipedown with CG Speed Wipe
Glass cleaned with Meguiars NXT glass cleaner
Tires dressed with Optimum Tire Shine
Interior wiped down with Meguiars QID

Looks great Pat!

Was your NXT shampoo still OK? I have about 3 gallons of Meguiar's Gold Class Shampoo from 2012 that went bad. They became runny like water and didn't produce suds like normal.

Marc...surpassingly it was still good. I was surprised. The stuff was ancient and I for a small bottle in one of my detailing bags.

Hey Marc...yeah this was the last of my NXT soap. I had a little left in a small bottle. I noticed the suds really didn't last all that well which I assume had to do with the age of the product.

Pat,

Nice looking car and nice write up. Your girlfriend and I have the exact same RX 330, same color exterior and two tone interior. I even have Weathertechs. My wheels are 17's hers are 18's. If your girlfriend's is a 2009 it is actually a 350. I wish my 04 had the 3.5L, it is a strong, smooth V6. And feels like V8 power (1990's V8 anyways)

Next time you are in her Lexus twist the shift knob so it's facing the right direction, it's on backwards:) It's on a threaded shaft and the knob just turns. They remove them at auctions and hold onto them in the main offices. I guess people steal $50-100 shift knobs?

After seeing photos of your garage, I wish you would give us more write ups. I would love to see some reviews on your Nissans.

Thanks again,
Bob

Regarding the shift knob and steering wheel. I dislike the wood on my steering wheel and I have an all wood shift knob. I would prefer the wood/leather combo of her's. I prefer the tactile feel of leather, can't stand having a worn out steering wheel. The ones at work get smoothed out and nicked up in less than a year.

Nice work, good to see you do some actual detailing ;)

NXT Soap, I have half a bottle of it still. I wonder if my bottle is still any good.
