Per the great Al53, I tried DG 501, 105 and AW this weekend. Rinseless 4-1, clay, 501 (wait 24 hrs), 105 (wait 24 hrs) then AW. I even applied all by hand.

Excellent results, especially on metallic silver. Since 501 is similar to 105 there is no need to apply 105 2x. 501 has strong cleaners and allows the 105 to spread and wipe off easily (after sitting for 45 minutes). AW gives it the extra pop--the flakes really reflect now.

Use the 501 on all exterior windows too. Leaves the glass smoother than, well, glass...

Also wheels received the same treatment. Great combo to try for winterizing. Don't forget--a little goes a loooong way. Too much product will make it tougher to remove.

It's worth a try. You won't be disappointed.

I love #105 and AW. However, I use #601 under #105, but all the same, it looks great and feels so good. Definitely a must on my Silver Jeep.

Nice review. Thanks for this. I've wanted to try this combo too. I might just have to now!

This combo made my mustang look great. i did 101 + 2 coats of 105 and it made it super slick and reflective. Finish with aquawax and your good to go for 5-6 months of flawless protection

The 501 cleaning is great, just that one alone gives great result imo..

Only "bad" part is the damn curing time....but i guess its well worth it in the end..

Considering that most apply a sealant about every 6 months the curing time isn't that much of a whip--although you do have to plan ahead. I'll throw on the 501 Friday afternoon, 105 Saturday and the AW Sunday. Just have to make sure it won't rain in between applications if you need to drive somewhere.

That said, I haven't tried the 601 yet. Supposedly it will cure the 105 immediately so you can top it with the LSP of your choice. Question is, I believe you still have to wait 24 hrs before applying the 601 over either 101 or 501. I'm sure Al53 or Sparkie have some thoughts.

DG #105 is one of the best sealants for durability and look.

I am in the process of doing this now.

Washed the vehicle, used a leaf blower to mostly dry it, then finished up with a mf cloth.

Moved the vehicle into the warehouse (thank God for the ability to do this at work in the AC!) and did the clay process.

I just added the DG 501 and I am waiting for it to haze completely...plus I thought I would take a little break. :)

After I buff the DG 501 off with a microfiber cloth, can I go ahead and do the DG 105, or should I wait??

I don't need to do the AW until after I was it again next week, right??

Thanks,

Scott

The 501 has a lot of cleaning abilities to it as well as protection. If you plan on using another sealant (ie 105) over it, then you do NOT need to wait. In the future, you may consider using 601. 601 is a very mis-understood as well as under-rated product. There are many misconceptions out there about it. If you use 601 after the 501 cleaning, you will allow it to dry (do the swipe test) and WITHOUT REMOVING IT, apply the 105 directly into it. A little hint is to do the 601 by hand and the 105 via UDM (or any RO polisher) so you can differentiate how they look to ensure even coverage. By the time you have gone around the whole car, paint, glass, chrome, you are ready to remove (again, test with a swipe). Hope that helps. The 601 will not only allow the 105 to cure faster, but it actually extends the life of the 105 as well.

I tried to get all the stuff together yesterday afternoon, and CarQuest didn't have the 601...next time I will plan better!!

I don't have a machine, so I am doing the whole thing by hand....

Man, are my arms getting a workout!!!

I just got done applying the 2nd coat of 105 on my wifes Fusion, sport blue. First round was the 601-105 combo, then a week later now, the second coat of 105, its hazing as i'm typing this. Might end up topping it with some Megs GC wax, for shiz and giggles...

I believe that Al-53 says that this is not true and it still needs a cure time. If you search his posts you will find a lot of good info on DG. I do like the look of a second coat of DG 105. I get comments and compliments on my car all the time.

901 Shampoo
Clay
501 pre cleaner on glass and alloys as well. Let cure overnight.
601 bonding agent. Let sit 45 minutes and leave on.
105 sealant on top of the 601 that was not wiped off. cure over night.
105 sealant second coat.
AquaWax after first wash a week later and then once a month.
